Not quite fin de siècle but near enough.
We’ve made it… almost.
We made it through another revolve around the sun.
2019 has been yet another great year for us here with further screenings for Excursion to the Mountains around the world and it being distributed digitally. Reverse Darwinism gaining some of the best reviews we’ve had, a clutch of awards and nominations, and it to finding its way around the world – don’t be surprised to see that one pick up some form of distribution in the coming months!
So as we look forward – we see some lovely projects on the horizon, one is in the mix now and is directed by a new, young exciting talent, there’s a smaller musically inclined project which also might see the light of day in 2020 and a larger project which, if we pull it off will be immense… but as ever, we can’t tell you anything!
Oh, and our films of the year, in no particular order:
Us – Jordan Peele
Bait – Mark Jenkin
Sorry We Missed You – Ken Loach
The Souvenir – Joanna Hogg
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – JJ Abrams
The Irishman – Martin Scorsese
Joker – Todd Phillips
Marriage Story – Noah Baumbach
Little Women – Greta Gerwig
The Favourite – Yorgos Lanthimos
Harriet – Kasi Lemmons
Thank you for stopping by, thanks for watching the films at festivals or streaming them or both, thanks for reviewing them, programming them and critiquing them – it feels very much that in the UK we’re going to have to re-find our sense of community and spread that bruderschaft far and wide.
