2018 > 2019

2018... - is turning into - ...2019.pngAnd so, it’s the end of the year again… these 365 days have been eventful haven’t they?!

As ever, it’s time to look back and also to look forward.

2018 has been a remarkable year for us and for ‘Excursion to the Mountains‘ especially. This little film has seemingly been around the world twice and is continuing to play to audiences far and wide… we hope to find a platform for it to be played on your home devices much in the same way that ‘Ecce Homo‘ did in 2017 and ‘It Wouldn’t Change Me‘ has this year. ‘Quality Style‘ has begun to find some traction for director Polly Thomas; we hope that this will continue into the new year.

Next year will see a few shorts, we’re currently working on a comedy, a drama, and a musical vignette commemorating wider world events.

Our films of the year – in no particular order:

Isle of Dogs
24 Frames
Lady Bird
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
The Death of Stalin

Finally, we’d like to mention our friend Gemma Head – always in our minds, always in our hearts.

‘Quality Style’: Lift Off Sessions

DECEMBER 2018 quality style poster portrait.jpgWell, would you lookie here…?There’s a new laurel on this (even if we do say so ourselves) beautiful poster.

Quality Style‘ is an official selection of the Lift Off Sessions December edition.

From Monday, you will be able to rent this film alongside a plethora of other short film goodness and vote for it – should you wish – and another short of your choice to propel it into further rounds of the competition.

From the organisers:

“The first round is open to the general public, who rent the entire collection of films for the full duration of the week. Everyone must vote for both their favourite, and second favourite film (by writing in the comments section on the Vimeo page).

The films will be available for viewing on Vimeo On-Demand as part of a series of films that make up Lift-Off Sessions December 2018  from midnight Monday 17th December (GMT), and it will be live until the weekend – ending late on Sunday night.”

You’ll finally be able to see the follow up to ‘Quality Time‘ from the warm of your sofa – or on a cheeky lunch break – from next Monday.

We’ll add the link in here and on our Twitter and Instagram accounts on Monday…

The second round is the internal judges round where the top five films from round one are scored and awarded by the Festival judges. The winner plays at Pinewood next year…

17 NOVEMBER UPDATE: The films can be found here. You will need to comment your votes for your two favourite films in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
